Breakfast at Bella’s (again).

Late-night snack at the Clipper Inn.  Pizza from the local gas station / convenience store (what can I say? - my sister-in-law Kate and I were hungry, and all of the local pizza places were closed).  Kahlua and cream from the Clipper’s bar.

Visit the Clipper Inn for your lodging and dining needs at 126 State Street in Clayton.

Today my mother-in-law and sisters-in-law went shopping in downtown Clayton.  Included on our itinerary was lunch at the Lyric, at which I ordered the buffalo chicken quesadilla and shared the strawberry rhubarb pie.

My MIL and SIL Cheryl each ordered a chocolate creme concoction that looked simply amazing and caused me to have serious ordering envy (though my strawberry raspberry Italian soda was quite refreshing and thirst-quenching).

Visit the Lyric Coffeehouse and Bistro in Clayton at 246 James Street in Clayton.

Breakfast at Bella’s to start the Memorial Day weekend.

First up: a decaf mocha latte (with whipped cream to accommodate their sprinkles and drizzles), accompanied by one of their amazing cinnamon sticks.

Main course: Lox, stocks, and bagels, on a toasted everything bagel.

Good morning, sunshine!

Visit Bella’s Bistro in Clayton at 602 Riverside Drive.
